Monk fasting timer showing clear elapsed time during a fast

A DELIBERATE PAUSE

A phone fast is not another screen-time chart.

It is a period you choose in advance: start now, stop when you decide, and make the distracting apps you selected harder to open while the fast is active.

HOW IT WORKS

Start it, protect it, then leave.

Start a phone fast from Monk and follow its elapsed time without repeatedly reopening the app. Turn on optional phone-fast protection and Apple’s Screen Time controls can shield the apps you selected for the duration of the fast.

You stay in control: protection is optional, you choose the apps, and Screen Time selections remain managed on your device.

01

Clear timer

See the fast’s elapsed time without turning the experience into a challenge feed.

02

Optional protection

Use Apple Screen Time to shield the distracting apps you selected.

03

Live Activities

See progress on the Lock Screen without reopening Monk.

PART OF THE WHOLE PRACTICE

Phone-free time can sit beside everything else.

A phone fast does not need its own account, subscription or dashboard. In Monk it lives beside your daily habits, abstinence commitments, food fasts and reflection.

Monk works offline without an account. It does not receive a readable list of the apps you select in Screen Time, and it does not use advertising or behavioral analytics.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A phone fast, clearly explained.

Does Monk block my whole phone?

No. If you enable protection, you choose the apps that Apple’s Screen Time controls should shield during the fast.

Is Screen Time permission required?

No. You can use the phone-fast timer without enabling protection and keep using the rest of Monk normally.

Can I see the timer on my Lock Screen?

Yes. Phone-fast Live Activities can show progress on the Lock Screen when you enable them.

Does Monk read which apps I selected?

No. Apple manages the selection on your device; Monk does not receive a readable list or send it to Stoic AS.
